How to play Spider Solitaire

Spider uses two decks (104 cards) across ten columns. The goal is to build eight complete sequences from King down to Ace in a single suit; each one you complete is removed from the table. Clear all eight to win.

The rules

  • Build down in rank on the tableau — any card can sit on a card one higher, regardless of suit.
  • You can only pick up a run of cards together if they're the same suit and in order; otherwise move one card at a time.
  • When a full King-to-Ace run of one suit forms, it's cleared automatically.
  • Stuck? Tap the stock to deal one new card to every column — but only when no column is empty.

Difficulty

  • 1 suit — the friendliest way to learn the flow.
  • 2 suits — a solid step up that rewards planning.
  • 4 suits — the full challenge for seasoned players.

Your deal auto-saves, so you can finish later. Prefer something else? Try FreeCell or Klondike Solitaire, or see all games.
